Nature looks after us. We look after nature.
That is not a slogan. It is the simplest way we can describe what we think is true and what we are trying to act on.
Nature is not somewhere separate from everyday life. It is not just forests and coastlines and wildlife documentaries. It is in the water that comes out of your tap, the food on your plate, the clothes you wash, the surfaces you clean, and the drain everything goes down. The effects of what we use in our homes are rarely visible in the moment, which is part of why it is easy to stop thinking about them.
EcoElara exists to make those connections a little more visible, and to find products that take them seriously.
We are not a manufacturer. We are a researcher.
EcoElara does not make products. We find them, from brands whose claims are verifiable, whose ingredients are transparent, and whose approach to sourcing and packaging reflects something beyond marketing language.
We work through every product in our range before it goes live. That means reading ingredient lists rather than accepting front-of-pack claims, asking suppliers for evidence behind their environmental commitments, and holding them to a defined Supplier Code of Conduct. Products that do not meet that standard are not stocked. Products that stop meeting it are removed.
We believe most people do not want to spend their evenings researching the environmental impact of a washing-up liquid. We do not think they should have to. That is what EcoElara is for.
We do not say "chemical-free". Here is why.
Everything is made of chemicals. Water is a chemical. The lemon juice in your kitchen is full of them. Saying a product is "chemical-free" either means nothing or is factually wrong , and we think that kind of vagueness is part of the problem, not the solution.
Our position is this: there are ingredients we are comfortable with and ingredients we are not. The difference is not whether something is synthetic or natural - it is whether it carries unnecessary risk to human health or to the water systems it eventually reaches, whether the evidence behind it is credible, and whether the brand making the claim can back it up.
We do not accept greenwashing. We do not accept vague labels. We ask for the evidence - and if a brand cannot provide it, we do not stock their products.
We did not invent this.
Many of the behaviours now sold as sustainable were once just ordinary. Returnable bottles. Repairing clothes rather than replacing them. Buying products that lasted. Refilling rather than discarding. These were habits, not ideologies — practical decisions that made sense before cheapness and convenience became the dominant logic.
We are not trying to return to a past that was simpler than it actually was. But we do think there is something worth recovering in the idea that looking after what you have, knowing what is in your products, and thinking briefly about what happens after you use them - these are not radical acts. They are just sensible ones.
EcoElara is part of a longer story. We are glad to be in it.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct
Every brand we stock is assessed against our Supplier Code of Conduct before we list their products. The Code covers:
Ingredients and formulation: Ingredient lists must be available, accurate, and complete. Claims about environmental or health impact must be verifiable.
Packaging and plastic: We prioritise brands working to reduce virgin plastic use, and we look at what packaging is made of and what happens to it.
Environmental claims: Vague claims such as "eco-friendly", "green", or "sustainable" are not sufficient on their own. We ask what they mean in practice.
Honesty: Brands must not misrepresent the environmental or health impact of their products through selective labelling, misleading imagery, or unsubstantiated certification claims.
We review our supplier relationships regularly. If a brand no longer meets our standards, they are removed from the range.

We share our progress. Including the difficult parts.
In March 2026, we published our ESG Policy - our commitment to running EcoElara in a way that reflects sound environmental, social, and governance principles. It covers how we operate, how we source, how we communicate, and what standards we hold ourselves to.
Later this year, we will publish our first progress report against that policy — sharing what we have done, what we have not yet managed, and what we are working on. We think transparency should include the parts that are still in progress. A sustainability c
The short version
We are a small brand. We cannot do everything, and we do not claim to. What we can do is check what we stock, say clearly why we stock it, and be honest when something changes.
We have done the research. Now you can just choose.
