A pair of reusable coconut-fibre kitchen scrubbers made from waste coconut husks, natural latex, and cotton stitching.

New Living's Coconut Fibre Kitchen Scrubbers are made from discarded coconut husks that are processed into coarse cleaning fibres and bound with natural latex.  They are designed for washing up and tougher kitchen cleaning without the synthetic plastic scourer layer found in many conventional pads.

Why we stock this

We checked what holds the scrubber together as well as the fibre itself.  New Living uses discarded coconut husks for the scrubbing surface, natural latex as the binder, and cotton stitching rather than a conventional synthetic sponge and plastic scourer construction.

We also liked that the coconut husks are a waste material from coconut processing rather than being grown specifically to make the scrubber.  New Living confirms the finished product is made in India and describes it as biodegradable and compostable at the end of its useful life.

What it's made of

Coconut husk fibre: Provides the coarse scrubbing surface.

Natural latex: Used to bind/coat the coconut fibres into the pad.

Cotton stitching: Helps hold the finished scrubber together.

Full material composition: coconut husk fibre, natural latex, and cotton stitching.
