LOOK AFTER NATURE. NATURE LOOKS AFTER US.

Where it began

I was born in London to a Barbadian family, shaped by music and nature. My father was a musician; my mother embodied beauty in every sense. Long before eco-friendly cleaning became a marketing category, my West Indian culture chose natural cleaning ingredients such as vinegar, lemon, and salt—not for fashion, but because they worked. Because nature always has. This ancestral knowledge—practical, purposeful, and passed down like family recipes—has guided my entire life. EcoElara is the inevitable result of living with intention, honouring my ancestors and heritage, and answering a call that came at exactly the right moment.

Why I Started EcoElara

Something became clear. Even as eco-friendly cleaning products were growing in popularity, we were still using plastic-based tools—sponges, cloths, scrubbers—that contradicted everything these products stood for.

I discovered that most people had no idea washing conventional cleaning cloths releases microplastics directly into our waterways. The short-lived, throwaway plastic tools sitting next to their natural cleaning products were quietly undoing the good those products meant to do.

That realisation became the founding story of EcoElara: what you clean your home with matters as much as what you put in your body.

The bigger mission

Look at your supermarket. If there is one aisle labelled 'eco-friendly' or 'organic' – what does that make every other aisle?

My goal is not to win a shelf in the eco aisle. My goal is to make that aisle unnecessary. To make eco-friendly cleaning so normal, so accessible and so obviously the right choice, that the question stops being "should I switch?" and starts being "why did it take so long?"

I want the next generation to grow up in homes where nature is not an alternative – it is simply the standard.

Nature is here to look after us. So we should never harm the very thing that looks after us. We should care for it, respect it and protect it – so that it can continue to look after us, and every generation that comes after us.

This is not a trend. This is the oldest truth there is.

Welcome to EcoElara.

With love and purpose,
