Friendly Soap's Kitchen Bar is a solid alternative to traditional washing-up liquid, designed to cut through grease on dishes while avoiding a plastic bottle.  The 95g bar is handmade in the UK, fragranced with lemon and lime essential oils, and packed in a card carton.

Why we stock this

We checked the full ingredient list rather than relying on the phrase "eco-friendly washing-up bar".  Friendly Soap discloses the soap base, cleaning ingredients and naturally occurring fragrance components, so the customer can see exactly what is doing the cleaning.

We also liked the solid format.  There is no washing-up liquid bottle to replace each time, and the bar is supplied in card packaging rather than plastic.

Sodium Cocoate: Coconut oil derived soap that provides much of the cleansing action.

Aqua: Water used during manufacture.

Sodium Castorate: Soap derived from castor oil, contributing to cleansing and lather.

Sodium Citrate: Helps support cleaning performance, including in harder water.

Citrus Limon Peel Oil: Lemon peel oil used for fragrance.

Citral, Limonen, Pinen, Terpineol, Terpinolene and Alpha-Terpinene: Naturally occurring fragrance components found in the citrus oils.  Some can trigger fragrance sensitivity in susceptible individuals.

How to use

  • Wet a dish brush, sponge or cloth.
  • Rub it over the bar to create a lather.
  • Wash dishes as normal.
  • Rinse thoroughly.
  • Allow the bar to dry fully between uses.

The bar can also be rubbed onto a fresh laundry stain before washing.
