A plastic-free bottle cleaning brush made with natural coconut coir fibre, a rubberwood handle, and a galvanised metal core.

LoofCo's Bottle Brush is handmade in Sri Lanka using coconut coir fibre twisted around a galvanised metal core, with a rubberwood handle and cotton hanging loop.  Its long curved head is designed to reach into bottles, jars, tall glasses, juicer parts, and other narrow spaces that are awkward to clean with a standard dish brush.

Why we stock this

We checked the full construction rather than treating it as simply a "natural brush”.  LoofCo uses coconut coir for the bristles, rubberwood for the handle, and a galvanised metal core rather than conventional plastic bristles and a plastic handle.

We also liked the specialist shape.  The long curved head makes it useful for bottles, jars, and other narrow containers that are difficult to reach with a standard washing-up brush.

What it's made of

Coconut coir fibre: A coarse fibre taken from the husk of mature coconuts and used for the cleaning bristles.

Rubberwood: Used for the handle.

Galvanised steel wire: Forms the internal core and gives the brush its structure.

Cotton string: Used for the hanging loop.

How to use & care

  • Rinse thoroughly before first use.
  • Use with warm water and your usual washing-up liquid or dishwashing bar.
  • Guide the brush into bottles, jars, and narrow containers.
  • Rinse thoroughly after use.
  • Shake out trapped food particles.
  • Hang to air dry using the cotton loop.
  • Avoid leaving the brush damp for long periods.

Good to know

A small amount of loose fibre or "dust" can appear during the first few uses. Test first on delicate or easily scratched surfaces.

End of life

The coconut fibres are biodegradable. Separate the remaining metal and wooden components where practical and follow local recycling or disposal guidance.
